Hard times are still upon us. And while the middle class struggles for an economic position, our representatives in Washington not only have been ineffective at finding any solutions but boldly promote agendas that have nothing to do with the views or lives of their constituents. Congress is currently in a position to give themselves, the best possible healthcare, the best pensions and retirement plans, an almost unlimited expense account and periodic raises. The economic crisis HAS NO EFFECT ON THEM. I therefore propose, effective immediately:

1. A cut in all salaries for ALL members of the Executive, Legislative and Judicial branches of government, of 33%. 

2. Eliminating tax-payer-funded pensions and retirement plans as provided by the Federal Employees' Retirement System and Civil Service Retirement System and using only Social Security for retirement and disability. How can anyone make effective decisions about the way we live unless they are actually participating in these programs?

3. More stringent guidelines on expenses accounts, making our elected representatives personally accountable for all types of motor vehicle expenses such as gas, repairs, drivers and traffic/parking infractions. 

4. Eliminating tax-payer-funded healthcare benefits as provided by the Federal Employees' Retirement System and Civil Service Retirement System. 

5. That there be no pay increases until the national deficit has been reduced to 50% or less of the GDP, and that there will be immediate suspension of such pay increases should the national deficit go above 50% of the GDP. 

I am asking that the President of the United States to issue an Executive Order to put these requests in to law.
