The U.S. Census Bureau reports that in 2010 - 46.2 Million people in the U.S. were living in poverty. This is an increase from 43.6 million in 2009 and it is the 4th consecutive annual increase.

The World Bank reports that in 2005 – 1.374 Billion people were living in poverty globally. It defines poverty as living on less than U.S. $1.25 a day.

All over the world people like you and I are surviving without sufficient food, shelter, medical care or education. If each and every one of us does one little thing to help fight poverty, it will snowball into a whole movement that will make a big impact on the poverty statistics. Get involved.

N APetition StarterAs a co-founder of Bundles of Joy, a California-based non-profit organization serving the poor in the Philippines, my goal is to reach out to the less fortunate and give them hope for a brighter tomorrow. The Philippines is a beautiful tropical paradise with 7,100 islands, many natural resources, booming businesses and great people. But many live in poverty. I want to raise awareness about poverty in the Philippines so we can all get involved, spread the word and do something to help out in our own little way. Every action, no matter how small, counts and makes a difference.
