Please ask your members to support HR 5566-Animal Crush Video Prohibition Act of 2010 by signing Petitions and phoning Federal representatives.

It has passed the House of Representatives, the Senate and has added the clause for commercial AND non-commercial intent-which requires one more approval from the House before it reaches to President Obama. We are VERY CLOSE.

Time is of the essence. If this does not pass by the end of the year (and there is a good chance it will be ignored after the elections), Americans can download and share (and teenagers often do to "gross out" their friends which also makes them very attracted and fascinated with animal torture) as many Americans now download and share animal torture crush videos as freely as they like-the Supreme Court made it legal because the older law was too vague. Such videos exist on countless pornography websites-crushing animals as a means of sexual gratification.

Groups like the ACLU is advocating that animal torture videos is the right of free speech and has powerful influence on Congress.

We need ALL animal rights groups to hone in on getting HR 5566 passed to law before it's too late. Please prioritize this as HR5566 is NOW before Congress! If we miss this opportunity-WE LOSE IT FOR GOOD!

PS-consider this:
These crush torture animal videos WILL teach our young to become violent criminals due to the fascination with animal torture. The USA also has the highest total documented prison and jail population in the world. In 2006, $68,747,203,000 was spent on corrections. (Florida alone spends $2.5 billion a year on State prison). States spend an estimated 7 percent of their budget on corrections. The cost of medical care for inmates is growing by 10 percent annually.

Isn't our USA prison population high and costly enough? Why are these disgusting animal torture videos considered free speech when it compromises our public safety? Don't we citizens have a right to a safer society? - what about our rights?
