65,000 undocumented students graduate from U.S. high schools every year!

The Federal D.R.E.A.M. Act would provide a pathway to legalization for undocumented students who entered the country before 2005, have lived in the U.S. since at least age 15, graduated from a U.S. high school, and pursue higher education or service in the military. Many of these students were brought to this country by their parents as children, have lived here most of their lives, and call the U.S. home.

This piece of legislation has until July 2010 to pass. If it does not pass by then, the bill dies and many students across the nation will be facing deportation, students who have done nothing wrong!

California State Senator Dianne Feinstein has the power to help pass the Dream Act now! Sign the petition and tell Senator Feinstein to help pass the Dream Act by calling on her colleagues to take swift action to make these students' dreams a reality!

In a nation that faces a shortage of 1 billion jobs that will require a college education by the year 2025, we can't afford not to invest in these students. We have already invested in their K-12 education. Let's not waste the investment by denying them higher education and the chance to contribute to our economy through work. Pass the Dream Act now!

Stand Up for Dream Act!

Greetings Senator Feinstein,

I am writing you today to stand up for the Federal Dream Act (S.729 /H.R. 1751) and call on your colleagues to pass the Dream Act now!

Every year, approximately 65,000 students across this nation graduate from U.S. high schools. About 25,000 of those students graduate from California high schools. I need not remind you that this May/June, thousands more will be graduating from high school to the realization that higher education is not a possibility for them. Hundreds more will graduate from colleges and universities across the nation, without any way of using their hard-earned degrees to work in this country legally.

We have already invested in these students' education in K-12, why waste the investment? Most of these students were brought to the country by their parents when they were children. Why should they have to pay?

Please stand with us and TELL CONGRESS TO PASS THE FEDERAL DREAM ACT NOW! As your constituents, we expect you to fulfill your commitment as a co-sponsor of the Dream Act and urge your colleagues to act quickly. Without this legislation, hundreds of students will be facing deportation! Please do not let us down.

Sincerely,

[Your name]
