The DREAM Act would allow undocumented immigrants brought to the United States as children to temporarily legalize their status if they have graduated from high school. Upon completing two years of college or two years of military service, they would then be eligible to become legal permanent residents.

The DREAM Act has its best chance of passage in a decade this month.

Greetings,

Young immigrants brought to the United States by their parents deserve the right to join our community. I urge you to support the DREAM Act by voting for its passage in an unamended form.

These young people did not choose to come here, but for many of them this is the only country they have ever known. We have educated them and we now need to welcome them. This serves the interests of humanity and justice, but it also makes good economic sense.
