Dear friends, APNM reports: "On Thursday, October 28, New Mexico Game Commission will issue the Cougar Rule Change, impacting management of big cat populations for years to come. Unbelievably, NM Department of Game & Fish has recommended to the Commission a 103% increase in cougar kill quotas (including a 200% increase in female cougar harvest) for a time period through 2014."
Your voice is needed today! Please sign below to contact the New Mexico Game Commission. Also, please consider e-mailing Governor Richardson via his website. You may copy and paste the text of the petition if you'd like.

Please Save New Mexico's Cougars
Dear Sir or Madam,
As you are aware, the New Mexico Department of Game and Fish plans to grossly increase the number of cougars that may be killed in New Mexico. In addition, the Department refuses to review this quota annually.
I respectfully urge you to intervene on behalf of our treasured wildlife and put a halt to this cruel, irresponsible plan. Please insist on a revision of this quota - based on sound science - as well as an annual review of cougar management agendas.
Thank you for your consideration and swift action.
Sincerely,
[Your name]
