Occupy Cincinnati Asks: Return Public Space to the People of Cincinnati

Occupy Cincinnati Asks: Return Public Space to the People of Cincinnati

The Issue

We, the undersigned, do hereby petition the City Council of the City of Cincinnati and the Cincinnati Board of Park Commissioners to protect and ensure the First Amendment rights of the people by amending the Park Rules and the Rules of Fountain Square to provide for a twenty four hour per day public forum available to the people of Cincinnati for protected speech, expression, and assembly. We believe firmly that providing a public space for protected speech will foster open dialogue among the residents of the City, will encourage involvement of the citizenry in government and community affairs, will improve the quality of life in the City of Cincinnati and will comply with the First Amendment of the United States Constitution.
