Progesterone is the hormone that keeps the baby "stuck" in the uterus. Many women suffer from low progesterone levels and that is why they miscarry. Most doctors do not test for progesterone levels, and routinely, a woman has to endure THREE miscarriages before they even start investigating the cause.

This practice of waiting is unacceptable. It is such an easy/quick/cheap test to perform, and low levels can be treated. Many women can avoid miscarriages if their progesterone levels are checked early in the pregnancy and monitored until they have risen to a safe level.

I believe progesterone should be tested alongside hcg levels when a woman finds out she is pregnant.
