From the HSUS: "Fox penning is a blood sport in which dozens of dogs compete in a fenced-in area to chase—and sometimes rip apart—foxes and coyotes. Trapped in the wild and sold to fox pens, often in other states, the fox or coyote must run for his life inside fences where there is no hope of getting away."

The Indiana Natural Resources Commission is considering a petition to ban penning in Indiana. A hearing will be held on Tuesday, November 16. Please sign below to register your support for such a ban. For additional information, please visit:

Please Ban Penning

Dear Sir or Madam,

I write in support of a complete ban on the abominable practice of "penning." As you know, penning is a blood "sport" that involves trapping and dumping foxes and coyotes into fenced enclosures and releasing packs of frantic dogs into the pens. The helpless wild animals are terrorized to the point of exhaustion, cornered, and often torn to shreds. Survivors suffer through this horror again and again, and the events can last for days.

I urge you to ban this depraved practice. There is nothing sporting about outrageous cruelty and gratuitous torture.

Thank you,
