Chemical sprays used for weed control cover our roadside ditches, which flow into our creeks, potentially contaminating our watersheds and our health. There are better, and in the long run cheaper, ways to control weeds to protect us from fire danger and allow roadside visibility. Mowing and/or planting of native grasses are the most effective means of weed control without polluting the environment and endangering our health. We urge the San Mateo County Board of Supervisors to stop the use pesticides and herbicides on San Mateo County roadsides and adopt non-chemical methods of weed control.
Stop Roadside Chemical Spraying
