The distribution of fliers presented by Parents and Friends of Ex-Gays and Gays is inappropriate and harmful for students of MCPS. Ex-Gay 'Conversion Therapy' has no scientific basis and has been rejected by the American Psychological Association, who noted that ex-gay treatment can cause "depression, suicidality, and anxiety" in patients. Students, regardless of their stance on LGBT issues, should not be led by scientifically inaccurate and outright harmful therapies such as those championed by PFOX. Schools should be safe spaces withouth lies and outright propaganda from groups such as PFOX present in any form. We demand that MCPS issue an apology to students at Einstein High School, and to revise their policy of allowing fliers from outside groups to be sent home with students.
