Mitt Romney is now going to be the likely candidate for the GOP during the 2012 presidential election. Knowing that he will likely be the GOP candidate, he needs to appeal more to the Independent voters. One way he can appeal to the Independents is by coming out strong against Amendment One in North Carolina.

You don't have to be a supporter of Marriage Equality, in order to understand that Amendment One is harmful to a much larger group than it intends to be directed at. Many Republicans have come out strongly against Amendment One and even just today David Blankenhorn, the star witness during the Prop 8 trial in California for the "Yes On 8" (anti-marriage equality) group, has come out against Amendment One.

We, the undersigned, formally request Mitt Romney to take the same moderate stance that President Obama has against Amendment One. Amendment One is not about supporting marriage equality, it is about supporting the citizens of North Carolina.
