Why This Is Important

This child told her parents that her teacher & teacher's aide were repeatedly bullying her about many things, including her intelligence & body size. To prove this was happening, the family secretly placed a tape recorder on the girl and caught, on audiotape, both the aide & the teacher saying terrible, demeaning things to this young girl. The aide was fired - the teacher was not. This is unacceptable. This teacher needs to know that ALL students deserve her respect & care, and that even if she simply sat by & watched her aide do the damage, she was obligated to step in & stop this abuse. Please help send a message that this kind of bullying & abuse by teachers & authority figures is not acceptable, and let this girl & her family know that we stand behind them for being brave & doing the right thing!

This child told her parents that her teacher & teacher's aide were repeatedly bullying her about many things, including her intelligence & body size.
