Despite their assertions to the contrary, Chick-fil-A has actively supported organizations that work against LGBT rights, including the Family Research Council and Focus on the Family, both recognized as active anti-gay fundamentalist groups by the Southern Poverty Law Center, and Exodus International, an organization that attempts to "fix" individuals' sexual orientation.

Chick-fil-A donated more than $1 million dollars to anti-gay causes between 2003 and 2008. Now, new IRS 990 forms reveal that the company donated nearly $2 million dollars to anti-gay groups in 2009 alone, the most recent year for which public records are available.

As a member of the Loyola University Chicago community, I pledge to boycott Chick-fil-A and to spread awareness of their stances against human rights. I also strongly encourage our university not to renew any agreements with Chick-fil-A until their policies are fully reconciled with the social justice mission of our Jesuit institution.
