The government needs to pass a law to let the public into there meat packing plants and farms so the abuse and cruelty will end. I'm a vegetarian but I'm not an idiot, I realise that most people are so used to eating meat they won't have the will power to stop. But there is no reason they have to be kept in such disgusting conditions while alive, you have no idea what an animal thinks or feels. Do you think a hungry lion cares if your scared while he's licking his lips? Same goes for dairy farms. I was brought up in New England, fortunately most of our meat is local and the farms are tourable and not gross by far, and trust me these guys are loaded...actually the biggest farms like Tyson and Purdue only keep there animals in such bad conditions is because the government will afford them loans so high they'll never be able to pay for them. They make less than $500.00 a week and are granted loans around half a million dollars...there is a reason for this. Working in the meat industry used to be a respected industry until fast food rolled around and fat Americans just needed to eat 10 burgers a week...well you are what you eat right ;) Now a meat packer and farmer are usually illegal immigrants who get paid around $5.00 a day...once again these are meat industries that have the happy little farm on the package. I'm sure if they showed the building with animals living on top of each other there meat might sell a little differently. Did you know they wash your meat with bleach before they pack it so you don't die? Years ago a boy died in three days from eating meat that was accidentally leaked out before being bleached, the boys mother only wanted a formal apology from the company. They never did anything for her and said accidents happen. This is a situation that would better humanity and the world. Did you know by 2046 there will be no more fish in the ocean? This is supported by marine scientists all over the world. It's being kept quiet though to not scare the public. Did you know there are videos of farmers smashing baby piglets on cement and laughing? they don't die all the way either. Or people half breaking turkeys necks and getting frustrated and leaving them walking around with there heads backwards? watch meat.org it's got nothing on the Nazism..if your Jewish I'm sorry but your supporting the same acts on living things human or not. It's not about eating meat and your a jerk it's about passing information along so people realize what there doing by eating crappy meat from burger joints is like handing a $20.00 donation to letting this happen.
We are supposed to be the greatest country in the world...I'm embarrassed to live here and my heart aches at how the mighty dollar dictates in such a way. If mankind wants to adapt to a bigger population and changing climate things have to change.
