Let Savannah foster cats

Let Savannah foster cats

The Issue

Reasons why my parents should let me foster cats:

If I were to foster for the rescue group I volunteer with, I would be provided with food, litter, and (as far as I know) medical bills would be taken care of. At my age I was told that I could actually be able to pull cats for rescue from a few high kill shelters without any problems, and if not, then I can still foster for cats already rescued,. I do have school, though by next school year (my senior year of high school), for both semesters, I will be able to get out of school about an hour or two earlier plus drive on my own and I don't intend to foster any kittens who must be bottle-fed by the hour. My sister intends to move out by the end of this year and we'll have a spare bedroom, and I have my own room as well to keep cats until they've got a clean bill of health and will get along with my own cat.

I do know that my dad has a decent reason for me to not foster (destruction of a room and/or house) and that's not really something I can 100% guarantee won't happen. However, by the beginning or end of senior year I'll be looking to get a job and can almost guarantee I will at least pay half or most (if not all) of the repair costs, if destruction does occur.

Another reason is that our "house is too small". Which, I would consider it a valid excuse if I still lived with my mom in my hometown... but I think our house could handle or one or two more cats for a short while.

But hey, I'll be able to rescue cats in need and nurse them to good health and help them find good homes. :> Plus, my rescue group desperately needs foster homes! It would probably be good experience because after college I would like to be a vet plus foster lots of cats until they can get the loving home they deserve.

I don't know if I'll be able to foster after I move out (or for the 6-8 years after that while I'm in college in another town) and I'd love to have the opportunity to do this now.

I have no clue what else to put here but I wish my parents would actually consider it instead of just automatically saying no. I'm not a 12 year old who wants to do it just to play with the kittens. I actually want to do this sort of work for the rest of my life.
