Attempts to privatize state services such as health care, prisons and schools, demand a careful cost/benefit analysis and full public disclosure. State budget policy, including tax exemption expenditures, also deserves vigilant scrutiny for the consequences to our citizens' well-being.

Legislators are urged to demand transparency, accountability and detailed, measurable outcomes before signing off on major policy changes. There are better choices for creating jobs, improving health care and public safety, building better schools and infrastructure to create a more prosperous future for Louisiana.
