Call on Congress to Ensure that Latino Voices Are Represented in Health Care As thousands of voices gather in Washington, DC, to call for health care reform this week, we need you to help them echo throughout the country the need for reform to be right for American families and communities. This past week, the House of Representatives released a promising health care reform plan that addresses the need to end disparate health outcomes for racial and ethnic minorities in the U.S. However, it leaves out critical pieces that would provide meaningful coverage for families throughout the country. Specifically, it does not remove waiting periods for all lawfully present individuals to access programs such as Medicaid and the Children's Health Insurance Program (CHIP). Now is the time for you to take action and tell your members of Congress to make health care more affordable and accessible for you, your family, and the many families who are left outside the system. We must no longer keep Latinos and immigrants from receiving adequate care. The system is broken and failing our community. It only takes two minutes to weigh in on this debate. If you haven't already done so, sign this petition now to ensure that there are health care reform solutions for Latino families. Tell your Representative that you need health care for your children, your family, and your community. Ensure that Latinos are at the table in 2009. Bring your voice to the table to guarantee adequate health care for Latinos and immigrants.
Latinos + healthcare
