Susan G. Komen for a Cure has been a critically important organization in the fight against breast cancer. This week in a short-sighted decision, they almost destroyed their great organization by first cutting and then restoring funding to another life-saving organization, Planned Parenthood.
A driving force behind this purely political move was Karen Handel, who was hired by Komen last year as vice president for public policy after losing a campaign for governor in Georgia in which she stressed her anti-abortion views and frequently denounced Planned Parenthood.
Karen Handel has to go.
Komen's Karen Handel Must Go
Hello,
I just signed the following petition addressed to: Susan G. Komen for a Cure.
----------------
Karen Handel Must Go!
As the current Senior Vice President of Public Policy and former Secretary of State for Georgia, she is a staunch anti-choice, republican activist who describes herself as a “pro-life Christian.”
Having run for the position of Governor of Georgia last year on an anti-abortion platform, she was endorsed by Mitt Romney and Sarah Palin. During her campaign, she said this: “First, let me be clear, since I am pro-life, I do not support the mission of Planned Parenthood."

Politics has no place in a debate about saving women's lives.
Karen Handel has to go. Demand that the leadership of Susan G. Komen do the right thing: accept her resignation or fire her immediately.

Sincerely,
