Izza, 13 mos old pit bull escaped her backyard. her guardians immediately went to Kent County Animal Control to see if she was there. The AC informed them that she wasn't. The family then returned home. After several hours, neighbors informed the family that they saw Kent Co Animal Control vehicle take her. The family immediately returned to AC. It was too late...Izza was dead. Despite a microchip, Izza was placed in a kennel with another dog who was scheduled to be euthanized. Both dogs wore pink collars. Due to the negligence of Kent County Animal Control, an innocent beloved pet was gone.

Dismissal of negligent employee who erroneously put down an innocent dog.

Greetings,

I just signed the following petition addressed to: Kent County Animal Control, Grand Rapids, Michigan. I am asking that disciplinary action be taken against the employee who erroneously put down an innocent dog. This is a tragic mistake that could have been avoided had proper protocol been followed. Izza was microchip. The first visit by the family, they told Izza wasn't there. Upon notification from witnesses that Izza was picked up by Animal Control, the family returned. Too late, Izza was dead. She was sharing a kennel with a dog scheduled to be euthanized.
