This petition is to make our fellow citizens of Britain of all backgrounds aware of the exclusion of a very large section of British population from the diversity map of Britain. While Britain is proud of her policy of celebrating diversity and promoting cohesion and inclusion by recognizing minority communities in ethnic monitoring systems at local and national levels such as national census, nearly one million Kashmiris in Britain are not recognised. As a result they remain invisible and forced to choose their ethnic identity or heritage identity from the Indian and Pakistani identities. Of course as British citizens we have no problems with the British Indian or British Pakistani citizens but in South Asian the Indian and Pakistani armies have occupied Kashmiri since 1947 and have crushed the demands for freedom several times by killing Kashmiris. Therefore, it is not fair at all for forcing Kashmiris in Britain to be labelled as Indian or Pakistanis. We want to be recognized as British Kashmiris in the ethnic monitoring system of Britain at all levels. Please support us by sighing this petition.
