Friday, Oct. 17th is the International Day for the Eradication of Poverty. That day, and through Sunday, Oct. 19th, millions of people from all over the world -- rich and poor -- will Stand Up and Take Action. They will Stand Up to:
- End Extreme Poverty and Hunger
- Make Sure Every Girl and Boy Can Go to School
- Reverse the Spread of HIV/AIDS and other Disesases
- Save Our Environment
- Provide Mothers and Children with Lifesaving Health Care
- Create Fair and Just Trade
- Provide the Aid That Has Been Promised
