Job Creation not Job Elimination

Job Creation not Job Elimination
The Issue
Many lives are at stake if Virginia's governor allows homes to be inspected and undergo remediation of mold hazards by unlicensed and non-certified contractors. Effective July 1, 2012, mold remediation and mold inspection will revert to being un-regulated professions, meaning state credentials will not be required to perform those activities. Mold, an environmental hazard, has many health effects, is life threatening and causes excessive damage to property. All of these can be exacerbated if not treated by properly trained professionals. This deregulation also disenfranchises contractors and training providers who took the initiative to create jobs for themselves and others in this troubled economy. Instead of Governor McDonnell creating jobs he is systematically eliminating them.
