Why This Is Important

Studies show ALL of Earth's deserts are expanding, a major factor in global warming.  We should irrigate them and grow plants which produce not just food for the starving, e.g., golden rice, but also ethanol for energy, e.g., corn and sugar cane.  If we can pipe oil down from Alaska, we can pipe water long distances.

This one action will help solve three major crises: global warming, hunger and energy.  In fact, the vegetables we grow could help America's obesity crisis too!

Studies show ALL of Earth's deserts are expanding, a major factor in global warming.  We should irrigate them and grow plants which produce not just food for the starving, e.g., golden rice, but also ethanol for energy, e.g., corn and sugar cane.  If we can pipe oil down from Alaska, we can pipe water long distances.
