Increase Funding for our Failing Education System!

As the economy continues to be unpredictable and unstable, our Public Education System is feeling the full impact of politician's failing tactics. Budget cuts have sored in most districts. Miami-Dade County (where I live) cut $700 million this school year, more than 1500 teachers lost their jobs, and those that remained should certainly not expect any raises anytime soon. This is UNACCEPTABLE! Even with the stimulus President Obama is delivering, we will probably not see any activity for at least another year at the local level and unfortunately, we suspect that about half of what is intended for each of our districts will not be used as it should. The Education System is a country's foundation. The stronger our education, the stronger our nation. To remove funding causes the eradication of many programs, the lack of books and supplies, overcrowded classrooms, distracted students, discouraged teachers, and the risk that our following generation will not have had the resources they could have because of wasteful government spending in programs that are far less important or superfluous altogether.

Please take a moment to write to your local congressperson, your mayors, your local community leaders, and yes, even President Obama himself. Ask them for MORE funding for our education system and for local government transparency! We need to know what our LOCAL leaders will be doing with this money! If enough voices speak up, they can't help but listen!
