Implement Bully Buzz Intervention and Empowerment into California School Districts
The Issue
The National Center for Education Statistic reports 1,876,900 recorded incidents and 689,100 recorded incidents to police from 2009-10. Bullying has increased by 20% in 2012 since last year 2011. With bullying statistics constantly raising a pro-active approach must be executed in order to see a tremendous decline and elimination of bullying. Bully Buzz, our associates, and employees, are committed to a pro-active intervention process for bullying where we are actively involved by enabling young children, teens and young adults to submit private request online seeking assistance for bullying situations they may be facing at school, work, or within their community.
Bully Buzz is a national anti-bully intervention and empowerment organization for the State of California's local, long distance, and surrounding areas of Los Angeles, Riverside, and San Bernardino Counties, and all 50 states, We are above and beyond the self-help programs available to our children. Bully Buzz provides pro-active hands on bully intervention, prevention, and empowerment for young children, teens, and young adults. We realize not every child or adult is equipped to fight back, and self-help options may not be the best alternative to ensure the lives of our children and young adults are protected.
Our goal is to prevent and maintain a zero tolerance of bulling in our schools, work place, and community. We focus on intervening, reducing, preventing, and eliminating bullying, cyber bullying, sexting, and other digital abuse, educating against homophobia, racism and hatred, decreasing school absenteeism, and deterring violence in schools, online and in our communities. We teach effective solutions on how to respond to all forms of bullying; as well as educating young children, teens, and young adults in school and online, providing help for those in need and at risk of suicide, raising awareness, peer mentoring programs in schools and for the public.
School is the number one place where bullying occurs. The second place for bullying is the school bus. With Bully Buzz allowed to operate on school grounds students will be safe as well as feel safe in the environment that is meant for them to grow, obtain a more focused and proper education, and develop appropriate social skills.
Bully Buzz not only provides intervention for the victims of bullies, we provide intervention for the aggressor as well. We want bullies to know being a bully is a reckless action that can ruin their life and inevitably hurt or kill someone maybe even themselves. We also want the victims of bullies to know they have power. They have the power to not allow themselves to be harmed.
What Happens When Bullying Is Reported To Bully Buzz?
All information for reports taken by Bully Buzz is collected upon submission. A ticket number is generated and emailed to the victim or reporter of the abuse. Every support ticket is documented with every procedure and step taken to intervene and prevent. This means every email, phone call, office visit, meeting, and report regarding the request for bully intervention is logged for record. We believe this will give the reassurance that their voice has been heard, and there is someone who cares enough to take a stance and help protect.
Bully Buzz intervenes at every level possible including helping the victims of bullies talk to their parent or guardian about their situation, going to schools to speaking with administration, contacting the school of the bully and their parents and in some extreme situations going to the proper authorities, when an agreeable resolution cannot be reached.
Bully Buzz's Scope of Needs/Problems
Bully intervention and prevention in our schools, work places, and communities with involvements of Schools, Community, and Law Enforcement:
Children, youth, and young adults are harassed for gender, sexuality, individuality, and/or handicaps (Create awareness that everyone is different, but should be treated equally in non-violent matters.)
Communication dysfunctions (Teach proper communication and self-awareness.)
Accountability and Responsibility dysfunctions (Show consequences for all actions involving rejected restraint from antagonizing and violent actions in form of law enforcement and court services. Bully and antagonists receive tickets to appear in court for their actions.)
Peer interaction dysfunctions (Bully Buzz Peer Consultants who create awareness between peers by implementing unified circumstances that create confidential, and trust-worthy communication.)
Involvement from Local Schools and community members (Incorporating and or partnering with Bully Buzz to create awareness of Bully Intervention and Empowerment Program. Including but not limited to school announcements, Assemblies etc.)
Goals/Objectives
Create empowerment by raising self-esteem, creating self awareness, and self-control
More imposed unity which will decrease and eliminate violence limiting new additions and involvement of gangs.
Creating peace in order to create focus on education and life skills needed to be productive in society.
Commitment: Bully Buzz wants to inspire pro-social relationships, strong interpersonal skills, and instill a sense of hope in the future.
Responsibility: Empower youth in establishing goals and following through on commitments.
Possibility: Expand the perspective of young people to make them aware of life’s possibilities.
Support: An individual is dramatically influenced by their support system. Bully Buzz wants to surround youth by a caring, inclusive empowered environment.
Please join us in calling on the California Department of Education to implement Bully Buzz Intervention and Empowerment in our California School Districts.
