As the harvest season for cotton in Uzbekistan begins, children are once again removed from schools across the country and forced to pick cotton. ILRF has teamed up with the American Federation of Teachers and a broad range of organizations in the US and Central Asia to call for an end to forced child labor in Uzbekistan. Sign the petition to end forced child labor in the production of Uzbek cotton. Deadline for the petition is Oct. 9. All supporters who sign the petition by October 2nd will have their names displayed on a quilt in DC on October 14th. If you are interested in taking part in local actions in the Washington, DC area to support this campaign, please send an e-mail to volunteer@ilrf.org.
