The Economic Development Brandon office has created a petition entitled “Convince WestJet to offer scheduled air service to and from Brandon” to help demonstrate to WestJet that southwestern Manitoba offers a strong market for regularly scheduled air service to and from Brandon.  We need your help spreading the word and if applicable signing the petition.    WestJet has concluded voting on whether to begin operating a regional air carrier with a smaller plane that fits perfectly with the southwestern Manitoba market.  Employees have overwhelmingly endorsed management’s plans to launch a regional subsidiary that will start short-haul flights in 2013.  According to media comments from WestJet, there are at least 50 cities that are hoping to convince WestJet to provide regularly scheduled air service from their communities. With such stiff competition, the City of Brandon needs your help in building the business case for WestJet to provide air service from Brandon. If you regularly fly for business, board and committee work, or leisure travel please add your name to the petition. Just as important, we ask that you forward a link to this petition to family and friends, business clients and suppliers, event participants, folks working in the area but living elsewhere that travel to and from Brandon and encourage them to sign the petition.

I just signed the following petition addressed to: The City of Brandon entitled "Convince WestJet to offer scheduled air service to and from Brandon".

I travel to and from Brandon and would definitely prefer to fly directly in and out of Brandon. Having to travel to and from the Winnipeg Airport or south of the border adds multiple expenses, is inconvenient and takes a great deal more of my time. I would definitely fly WestJet if that option was available to me.
