The rules and regulations governing licensed midwives, in the state of Arizona, have not been updated since 1994. Current standards requires an update in rules and regulations every 5 years. We are far passed that time frame. Because of the moratorium on rule making and updating, enacted by the govenor, we must go through the legislative process in order to get an exemption from the moratorium and open the rules and regulations. By signing this petition you are letting the representatives of Health Committee in the House of Represenatives know that you support this bill and DEMAND that the rules and regulations governing midwives be open and updated. Updated rules provide consumers of midwifery care with current and evidenced based care. As a consumer, a woman, a husband, a partner, a grandmother, a grandfather, a sibling YOU deserve nothing less than evidence based care for yourself and for those you love.
