Dear Excellency
We are aware that India does a lot to build the livelihoods of Sri Lankan Tamils from housing to job creation.

You would agree that Cricket is Sri Lanka's favourite sport.
Here’s the sad truth - Cricketing Superpower India has done NOTHING to improve cricketing infrastructure in Tamil speaking areas of NUWARA ELIYA / JAFFNA / TRINCOMALEE in Sri Lanka.

Consider these facts –

1) NUWARA ELIYA
Government of Sri Lanka has cancelled a plan to build an international cricket stadium in Nuwara Eliya depriving up-country Tamils of watching cricket from their doorsteps.

Instead of the 2002 plan to have an international cricket stadium in Nuwara Eliya –
~~ now they are proposing to build a High Performance Sports Centre at Nuwara Eliya Race Course premises without the originally planned international cricket stadium with Chinese help –

PASSING THE BUCK

~~ Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) would say that they are paying a heavy debt since improving infrastructure in Colombo, Pallekele and Hambantota for the 2011 World Cup and they have no funds.
~~The Government of Sri Lanka would say that they have other priorities and they have no funds.
~~The Board of Control for India (BCCI) would say Sri Lankan cricket is SLC’s duty and that their responsibility is towards Indian cricket.
~~The Chinese Government would say they have little interest in cricket let alone build cricket stadia

Each party would be passing the buck and the end result is we Tamil cricket fans ending up with no cricketing facilities of international standard. Is this a conspiracy against the Tamils?
We let the intelligent masses to come to their own conclusions.

Players from Tamil areas are forced to come to Colombo if they are to stand a chance to win international fame in cricket. This is the undeniable reality.

We therefore earnestly request the Government of India to take steps to build 3 international cricket stadia in the 3 Tamil speaking capital cities of NUWARA ELIYA / JAFFNA / TRINCOMALEE where Tamils of the Upcountry, North and East of Sri Lanka reside.

This is our dream.
