I recently bought some cloth bags from cleangreenbags.com  to do my food shopping with. They only cost 90 cents each! It is amazing how many paper and plastic bags are thrown out each year. By simply taking the bags with me during my shopping trips I save a lot of hassle to myself and the grocery stores!
