Stop T fare increases and cuts. Invest in public transportation.

The Issue

The MBTA is proposing drastic fare increases and service cuts that could reduce or eliminate over half of all bus routes which will only solve the problem for one year. This burden cannot be put on the backs of MBTA riders. Low-income families, students, seniors, disabled people and workers depend on this service. The MBTA is not considering long-term solutions to sustain and improve the system. Public transportation is a public good and there are alternatives to fare increase and cuts.

We don't have much time: the T will be holding public hearings January-March with a vote on the proposals by April 15.
