Commute the death sentence of Mark Wiles
Commute the death sentence of Mark Wiles
The Issue
Mark Wiles was convicted of the 1985 murder of fifteen-year-old, Mark Klima. We urge Governor Kasich to consider the following and commute Mark’s death sentence to life without parole:
• His trial attorneys failed to uncover abuse in his childhood.
• His trial attorneys failed to uncover that he had been under the influence of barbituates prior to entering the Klima’s house on the day of the murder.
• His attorneys failed to investigate a head injury he sustained twelve days prior to the murder.
We deeply sympathize with the family and friends of Mark Klima, but we respectfully offer that another death will neither heal nor resolve this tragedy.
Action petitioned for: We, the undersigned, are concerned citizens who urge Governor Kasich to commute the sentence of Mark Wiles to life without parole.
