Gov. Christie has not done enough to clean up New Jersey’s air, but after being hospitalized for an asthma attack recently, we hope he’ll be more sympathetic to the challenges 163,000 New Jersey kids with asthma face every day. Air pollution threatens the health of all children and is known to trigger life threatening asthma attacks without warning, and one in ten American children live every day of their lives with this chronic disease.
We can’t afford to hold our breath any longer. Now is the time for Gov. Christie to stand up and take action on the air pollution that affects all of us, especially New Jersey’s children.
Sign the petition to ask Gov. Christie to make the Clean Air Promise so our children can breathe free.
This is about protecting the health of our kids, and after today, we hope it would be as close to Gov. Christie’s heart as it is to the rest of New Jersey parents.
Make the Clean Air Promise to our kids
Dear Gov. Christie:
We offer our best wishes for a speedy recovery after the asthma attack that put you in the hospital. Asthma attacks can be life-threatening events, and that’s a fact of life for the one in ten American children and the 192,000 New Jersey Children who live with this chronic disease.
It’s long past time to take action on dangerous air pollution that public health experts like the American
Lung Association have been warning cause asthma attacks and emergency room visits every day.
We’re calling on you to make a Clean Air Promise to our kids. Protect them from dangerous air pollution that is dangerous enough to put you in the hospital because it's even more dangerous to them. Millions of parents in New Jersey are counting on you to stand up for our kids.
