The folks who rely on Social Security in the United States have not gotten a raise for the last two years.  With prices constantly going up for food and other necesities; people on Social Security need their raise.  I am talking about people on a fixed income who have no other money coming in.   They are still receiving funds set at 2009 levels. 

Things have went up a whole lot since that time.  It is not right that people have to make the decision to buy food OR medicine.  Please bring Social Security up to 2011 levels so people won't have to do without basic necessities.  Check this link out for more information:  Global Food Prices Skyrocket!

The United States is not a third world country that cannot help its' most vulnerable citizens.  Please sign this petition so the senior citizens and disabled people in this country will get the help they need.

Give our most Vulnerable Citizens their Cost of Living Raise

Greetings Our Esteemed Law Makers,

I feel bad to see our most vulnerable citizens in the United States of America have to do without the basic necessities because they have not gotten their Social Security cost of living raise since 2009. Please make an exception and give them their raise now and bring their COLA up to 2011 levels.

With food prices going up along with other necessities; Seniors and our Disabled should not have to make the painful decision to buy either medicine or food. The subject of food prices rising has been in the news lately and one can see it every time you go to the grocery store. Many of our seniors and disabled people are on special diets and cannot afford the food needed to keep them at their most healthy. Eatting healthier food will also keep them out of the hospital longer,

With the COLA being raised; it might also take some of the stress off the food pantries as well. I know our Seniors and Disabled people will be most thankful to be more independent and healthy. Please give Social Security recipients their COLA.
