Four year old Taylor  Pugh has long hair. But the Texas Mesquite Independent School District will not allow him to associate with the other children because of his long hair. They claim it violates their dress code. Yet there is nothing in the code about hair length.

The district suspended him from school and threatened expulsion if he would not comply, until there was press attention, which lead them to reduce the four year old's sentence to segregation from the other kids.

Send a letter directly to Laura Jobe, Administrator, at the Mesquite independent School District and let her know that this is unconstitutional in a free society. Schools exist to serve the people not the other way around. Four year olds are very impressionable and such segregation could be damaging to this childs future.

Dear Laura Jobe,

Your notorious authoritarian discipline of four year old Taylor Pugh to cut his hair or else be segregated from his class and friends is reprehensible. You embody the definition of authoritarian conservatism. This is not acceptable in a free society. People are individuals and deserve dignity and respect to be who they are, and not to conform to some arbitrary standard set by a few authoritarians.

We the undersigned hereby demand that you free Taylor to exist as any other student in the classroom and not impose your will upon his right to be free.
