Both the Burmese and African Rock Pythons are invasive species that are DESTROYING THE EVERGLADES. There is a hunting season for them but it needs to be open year round, even Florida Congressman Tom Rooney supports this action. They are taking over the Everglades and threatening the many endangered species living there. Every ecosystem is important and the Everglades is one of the world's largest wetlands and we need it. These snakes also cost the government billions to take care of each year. Why not just let people hunt them year round????? Hunting seasons are in place to protect populations but in this case we do not want to protect the pythons, we need to protect the native species.
