These six young men all took their life in the past year because of bullying. Six lives…gone in the blink of an eye because they were perceived to be different.

And these are just the names we know.

Jamey Rodemeyer's recent suicide is particularly troubling because just 4-months ago he took part in the "It Gets Better" campaign, recording a video aimed to help others who were feeling lost.

In his video, Jamey credits Lady Gaga and her anthem “Born This Way” from which he quotes “hold your head up and you’ll go far” for helping him to find happiness. Sadly, Jamey’s happiness didn’t last.

Please take a moment to sign the petition and encourage your friends to as well. After the success of her childhood obesity initiative, I cannot think of a better person than the First Lady, to take this issue to the next level.

Six of the many lives lost to bullying. We need to make this a national priority because our children are dying.

Jamey Rodemeyer's recent suicide is particularly troubling because just 4-months ago he took part in the "It Gets Better" campaign, when he recorded a video aimed to helping others who were feeling lost.

Jamey says in the video, "All you have to do is hold your head up and you'll go far," and says the love and support of many including Lady Gaga's message that he was "Born This Way" is what helped hi arrive at that place in his life.

Now he's gone.
