Start Placing Caffeine Content on 5 Hour Energy and Monster

The Issue

High caffeine consumption can lead to serious health problem, yet shockingly the FDA does not regulate posting the amount of caffeine on 5 Hour Energy and Monster Energy drinks.

Energy drinks are regularly consumed by over 1/3 of American teens.
More than 500 new energy drinks were launched this year, creating a $3.4 billion-a-year industry. Of those 500 new products NONE are being regulated by the FDA.

Monster Energy drinks contains more than 3 times the amount of caffeine per ounce than Pepsi and 5 Hour Energy contains about 7 times the amount of caffeine per ounce than Pepsi.

The caffeine content goes unknown to most American teens because the specific caffeine content cannot be found on the product.

It’s time for the Food and Drug Administration to start placing the caffeine content on 5 Hour Energy and Monster energy drinks and start protecting America’s teens.
