I need your help to promote an urgent issue that Congress must act on:  Congress is deciding if it will extend long-term unemployment insurance to 2 million people. [1] If it fails to act by Dec 31st, two million people across the nation will lose their unemployment benefits. 

Without the extension of this crucial lifeline, the number could skyrocket to over 6,000,000 Americans and countless New Mexicans that would lose their benefits over this holiday season.

Join with me today and demand that Congress act to protect the Unemployed by extending Long Term Unemployment Benefits. Whether it is benefits to those struggling to find jobs or credits to businesses to hire the unemployed now, we must maintain this critical lifeline for millions of our fellow citizens. Speaker John Boehner holds the power to decide what comes up for a vote in the U.S. House of Representatives. I’m asking you to stand with me to stop speaker Boehner from playing politics with our most vulnerable populations. Stripping millions of Americans of their benefits over the holidays to score political points is not only cruel it’s un-American.
