This amendment is discriminatory to the human beings that deserve equal rights and equal protections. Denying citizens of their rights to marry is a civil rights issue. It's clear that Florida is a bible belt state, so there is major work to be done but we all can start somewhere. Same-sex marriage DOESN'T hinder the sanctity of marriage, we want to marry because we deserve the right to commit legally and that's the chant that needs to heard throughout the state of Florida!!! Love doesn't discriminate and the world needs to understand that.

Tell Governor Rick Scott to end the ban on Same-Sex Marriage in Florda

Dear Rick Scott,

I just signed the following petition that addresses Florida's Marriage Amendment also known as Proposition 2.

----------------
I'd like to encourage you to end the ban on same-sex marriage here in the state of Florida.

This state amendment is discriminatory to the human beings that deserve equal rights and equal protections under the Fourteenth Amendment within the constitution. That amendment states, " that no state shall deny to any person within its jurisdiction the equal protection of laws, nor deprive any person of life, liberty, and property without due process of law, nor make or enforce any law that shall abridge the privileges or immunities of citizens of the United States”. Denying citizens of their rights to marry is a civil rights issue and the time has come for discrimination to end once a for all. Love doesn't choose, so a group of mature, responsible adults shouldn't be punished for it. I hope you take the time out to understand the LGBTQ community instead of keeping a closed mind on the trials and tribulations we face.

Best Regards,
