I recently lost the sweetest stray kitten I had ever found. She was turned in on February 1, 2012. If the Animal Shelter didn't have enough room for her after 3-5 days, she would be euthanized. When I picked her up, I heard the worker say, "Some cats ready to go on vacation?" Those words will never leave my memory. We really need to do something about this. It would take the same amount of time to find a home as it would to euthanize an animal. Animals are living, breathing things.. just as humans are. We are not killing homeless people who are taken into shelters, therefore we should not be killing innocent animals.
