Encourage children and raise children in Equality

I am not yet a parent but I love children and hope to have children one day. I do see kids on a nearly day to day basis and have youngsters in my family. It is important to encourage young children to treat each other fairly.&nbsp; I am asking all of you who know and love children and hope to have or support children one day to encourage equality in their hearts and minds.<br /><br />"May we never break the strong spirits of our daughters, may we teach our sons to become loving and nurturing men, in so doing we hold the key to universal Peace." ~Unknown<br /><br />The quote above pretty much sums up this action. I encourage you all to research feminism and gain understanding on what true equality looks like and next time you're around children that you know, love and care about remember to pour a little nurturing knowledge on to them. : ) <br /><br />A great book is "50 ways to improve women's lives" If you are mother and are interested in more there is an on line magazine called "Mothering" and there is a children's magazine "New Moon" that is a great resource. If you sign this pledge you are signing to say that you understand that equality is still needed all over the world and that you will educate yourself and continue to question equality as well as continuing to pass what you learn on to others and sharing in the struggle for equality for women all over the world. You are saying that you will encourage the children you are close to think critically and treat each other as equals despite differences.<br />
