Why This Is Important

We, the undersigned, believe Birth/ Labor Doula Services are a means to lower-cost, better-outcome Birth/ Maternity Care for women, infants, families and the United States of America.  We believe a Birth Doula should be available and affordable to all birthing families who would choose this service.  We believe the cost of hiring a doula should be payable or reimbursed through insurance or any other form of health care system.  We believe a comprehensive overhaul of the Healthcare System in the United States would include Doula Care for Birthing Women for its economic, physical, emotional and social benefits to all.

Dear Representative,

We believe Birth/ Labor Doula Services are a means to lower-cost, better-outcome Birth/ Maternity Care for women, infants, families and the United States of America.  We believe a Birth Doula/ Labor Support doula helps improve the bonds between women and their babies and partners and reduces the risk of child abuse and neglect and should therefore be available and affordable to all birthing families who would choose this service.  We believe the cost of hiring a doula should be payable or reimbursed through insurance or any other form of health care system.  Supporting and educating moms increases the likelihood that they will speak up for themselves and their babies, increases the odds of a successful delivery and infant care, and empowers male partners to be involved and active in their child's life.  We believe a comprehensive overhaul of the Healthcare System in the United States would include Doula Care for all Birthing Women for its economic, physical, emotional, and social benefits to all.
