Transgenderism has been labeled as a psychological disorder, which prevents trans people to join the U.S. Armed Forces. Whether or not a person identifies with his or her socially constructed views of his or her biological sex does NOT prevent the person from serving the country well and protecting the People. When the country faced racial issues blacks were not permitted to fight because they were believed to be inferior to whites. This is completely false. When the country was overwhelmed by sexism women were not allowed to join the military because they were considered weaker than men. Now women prove their place in the Service. The country has most recently been fraught with LGBT issues. Homophobia is prevalent, but America has finally allowed gays and lesbians to fight among their peers and they are overseas fighting to protect our lives and our "rights." We are making progress, but why is the "Land of the Free," a place of "Equal Opportunity," still holding out on some people? Trans should not mean fewer rights. Transgender people are NOT a threat to society any more than any minority has been, but they are not yet protected by the same laws and prejudice is out of control. Transgender people are perfectly capable of fighting and this minority, which was once part of the LGBT whole, has been left behind for further persecution and scrutinization. Transgender people are human and possess the mental capacity to do their jobs just as well as anyone else and should therefore be free to enlist in all branches of the United States military, including the Army, Air Force, Marine Corps, Navy and Coast Guard, including all subgroups, such as the Army Reserves, the Army National Guard, the Air Force Reserves, the Air National Guard, the Naval Reserves, the Naval Militia, the Marine Corps Reserves, the Coast Guard Reserves and the Coast Guard Auxiliary. What more must we do to gain liberty, justice, the pursuit of happiness and full equality for all people? Please sign this petition and let's find out just how many signitures it takes to finally reach equality in our country!

Allow trans-identified people to fight for their country
