Recently nine former DEA officials held a press conference to call on Mr. Obama and congress to step in and stop Prop 19, which would legalize cannabis for adults over 21, from becoming law if the citizens of California choose to pass it this November ( http://fdlaction.firedoglake.com/2010/09/13/just-say-now-responds-to-dea-hysteria-on-prop-19/ ).

Despite an interference being blatantly against the constitution, stopping the will of the voters from trying to end this devastating war of cannabis, whether in California or elsewhere, is so obviously against our democratic rights that it should not and will not be stood for.

This failed war has gone on for too long and has destroyed too many lives. If Pop 19 passes, the people will not stand for the federal government blocking it, or any future cannabis reform efforts in the country.

It's obvious that it's up to the people to make this change, so let us have our way if the will of the voters shows it as what we want.

Sign the petition and tell our elected officials not to interrupt much needed reform.

Update: Recently Attorney General Eric Holder stated that even if Prop 19 passes, they will vigirously enforce federal law and will arrest anyone who grows, sells, or uses marijuana, and stated that the Obama Administration continues to be entirely opposed to legalization.

Even if Obama was against legalization, why would he go against the will of the voters in one of the country's most populated states? Why would he continue to put resources into funding a dangerous black market? Tell our elected officials this is wrong.

Greetings,

Recently nine former DEA officials held a press conference to call on Mr. Obama and congress to step in and stop Prop 19, which would legalize cannabis for adults over 21, from becoming law if the citizens of California choose to pass it this November.

Despite an interference being blatantly against the constitution, stopping the will of the voters from trying to end this devastating war of cannabis, whether in California or elsewhere, is so obviously against our democratic rights that it should not and will not be stood for, and I sincerely hope that you look into the issue and realize how much of an error it would be to fight against it.

Why would we want our government to go against the will of the voters in one of the country's most populated states? Why would we continue to put resources into funding a dangerous black market?

This failed war has gone on for too long. If Pop 19 passes, the people will not stand for the federal government blocking it, or any future cannabis reform efforts in the country.
