Demand Justice for Filipino Registered Nurses at California Hospital

Demand Justice for Filipino Registered Nurses at California Hospital

The Issue

In the past two years, California Pacific Medical Center (CPMC) has decreased hiring rates of Filipino Registered Nurses (RNs) for no reason beyond xenophobic prejudice. The hospital's administrators have been known to actively tell their hiring staffs not to hire Filipinos and foreign graduates.

The California Nurses Association has filed a class action lawsuit against CPMC. Filipino American community organizations called to demand a transparent meeting with the hospital's administrators, a cooperative investigation by the San Francisco Human Rights Commission, and a public apology for their hiring practices.

Stand in solidarity with the CNA and community organizations to protect the rights of workers against discrimination.
