Stop criminalizing our homeless

Stop criminalizing our homeless

The Issue

Our voices are the voices of the homeless. We are the advocates for those families that could be one of your own families. We are all one step away from being homeless. My family was once one of those unheard families. Instead of spending tax payer money on a consultant that costs the city $250,00.00+- to figure out what to do? Why not spend that money on solutions and resources in our city and county to help these people be more self efficient? Our city does not want to be labeled the "hateful city" towards our homeless population. To send our homeless population out to Safe Harbor 8 miles away to eat, shower and make phone calls is a crime in itself. How do these people get there if we discourage donors to offer help to the one place inner city that they can get to that is safe for at least a meal once a day? I am most positive that the donors of this city and county do not want to be labeled "hateful" because our community leaders want to keep the homeless out of sight.
