Understand E-Waste (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/E-waste) at an individual level & write your local Congressmen to revisit legislation to hold Corporations responsible for e-waste disposal of their products at "end-of-life" (as the European Union has done since 2003). Waste electronics will most likely end up in a landfill or incinerated. Both methods allow toxic chemicals to pollute the environment.
Revisit Legislation for Corporate responsibility of "E-Waste"
Dear Representative,
It is time again to look at National legislation that will hold the Electronics manufactures responsible for e-waste disposal at end-of-life. The European Union with their WEEE (Waste Electrical & Electronic Equipment) & RoHS (Restriction of Hazardous Substances) Directives enacted since 2003 allows us 5 years worth of precious research for us to at least get our first Draft right. Force Corporations to use the collected waste in an ecologically-friendly manner, either by ecological disposal or by reuse/refurbishment of the collected WEEE. Please help. Thank you for your time.
