America's Veteran community is a cornerstone of our democracy; their selflessness, committment, and  sense of duty epitomize this country's long-standing tradition of civil service.

In October, the top four members of Congressional Veterans' committees signed a letter to the Joint Select Committee on Deficit Reduction in support of reducing funding to the Veterans' Administration.  In the letter members of Congress state:

We believe no constitutency better understands the challenge America faces, and no constituency is better suited to, again, lead by example by putting country first.

Veterans are leaders, but they deserve our support, not cuts.  At a time when America has been at war for over 10 years, leaving our nation with a generation of Veterans at increased risk for mental and physical health problems, suicide, homelessness, and unemployment, the last thing we should do is cut funding to Veterans' services.

Tell Congress that Veterans deserve our support, not cuts.

Do not cut funding for America's Veterans

Greetings:

As leading members of the Congressional Committees on Veterans' Affairs, you play a leading role in creating the policies that have the most impact on our Veteran community. In October you signed a letter to the Joint Select Committee on Deficit Reduction in support of reducing funding to the Veterans Administration. In the letter you state:

"We believe no constitutency better understands the challenge America faces, and no constituency is better suited to, again, lead by example by putting country first."

Veterans are leaders but they deserve our support, not cuts. At a time when America has been at war for over 10 years, leaving our nation with a generation of Veterans at increased risk for mental and physical health problems, suicide, homelessness, and unemployment the last thing we should do is cut funding for Veterans' services.

Support our Veterans, don't cut funding to the Veterans Administration.
